We have a fully independent pre-primary school and the children follow a daily class program and a 4 term school calendar. The children wear a school uniform during term to facilitate outdoor play and LifeSkills activities.

The pre-primary classes consist of:
  • Gr 00 (for the 4 year olds)
    • Seals
    • Dolphins
  • Gr 0 (for the 5 year olds turning 5 between July and December)
  • Gr R(2)(for the 5 year olds turning 5 between January and June and for 6 year olds.)
  • Gr R(1)(for 6 year olds)
The Kidzz!!Playing is hard work!

PlaygroundThe children are placed in groups according to age.

We follow a structured education program, which is stimulating and creative at the same time.

The Gr R CAPS curriculum is prescribed by the National Education Department. This curriculum is followed in our Gr R(1) and Gr R(2) and Gr 0 classes. We have scaled this down for our Gr 00 classes, so that they can get a head start with their academic development.

Reports are issued four times a year for all classes. A baseline assessment is also done in Gr R in January to help assess their school readiness.
Grade 00
We have two Gr 00 classes: The Dolphins and the Seals. Children who turn 4 years old during the year are placed in these classes.
Grade 00 (1) - SealsGrade 00 (2) - Dolphins
Grade 0 and Grade R(2)
Grade 0 and Grade R(2)We have a Gr 0 class for children who turn 5 years old between July and December and a Gr R(2) class for children who turn 5 years old between January and June. The Gr R(2) class is also the Gr R class for mainly younger 6 year olds. The 5 year old children who are in Gr R(2) are legally entitled to attend Gr 1 in the year in which they turn 6 years old, although most of our Gr R(2) 5 year olds attend Gr R(1) in the year they turn 6 years old.
Grade R(1)
Mainly the older children who turn 6 years old during the year they attend Gr R(1) are placed in this class. Gr R forms part of the Foundation Phase. The Foundation Phase is from Gr R to Gr 3, which means that Gr 1 continues to build on the knowledge and skills they have already acquired in Gr R.

The children follow an academic school programme from 07:45 to 13:00. They can opt to follow an aftercare programme during the afternoons and/or a holiday programme during the school holidays.

Assessment tasks are given to assess the children on a regular basis.

Our aim is to get our graduates as ready for Gr 1 as we possibly can. We will continually strive to give our children the best all rounded education possible, so that they can leave us as confident and as ready as they can possibly be.

Registrations for 2019 are still open and remain open right throughout the year.
There is full or casual care available and you can also choose between half day/school day or full day care, which includes aftercare. We are open during the school holidays and only close for approximately three and a half weeks over the December school holidays.
There is also CASUAL HOLIDAY CARE for primary school children for any local, national or international children.

To register you need to fill in the preliminary application form on the site and e-mail/fax it to us (see contacts) or phone us to come and view the facilities.

All parents please note that our pre-primary school is for children between the ages of 4 and 6 years old (turning 4-6 years old that year) and the crèche/nursery school is for babies and todlers from 1 month to 3 years of age.

We are an Independent Early Childhood Development Centre with a CRECHE and PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL, which includes superb Gr R classes (registered with the Education Department). Our Gr R‘s follow the CAPS curriculum as prescribed by the Department of Education and our younger children follow the NELDS curriculum. Our aim is to make our children as confident and as academically prepared for Primary School as possible.
Our Gr R class(es) are well renowned and our graduates have made us very proud in the past as so many of them attend the best primary schools not only in the area and in the adjoining areas, but much further afield and many of them excel at primary school level. We will continue to strive for excellence.

As a matter of interest, which primary school your child will attend when he or she starts Gr 1, does not depend on which pre-primary school your child went to, it depends on where you live or where you work, as public primary schools have to mainly enrol children who live in the area around their schools first.
They can, however, admit a certain number of children from outside these areas, which is why most of our Gr R graduates, who have been well-prepared, often can and do attend the primary schools of their choice, in spite of where they live.
Our principal will be happy to advise you in this regard should you require further information.

Gr R.
If your child is turning 6 yrs old this year, please note that your child has to go to Gr 1 next year and has to be school ready and preferably has to be in a Gr R class in their 6th year, as Gr R is the first year of schooling, not Gr 1 anymore. This is when the Foundation Phase, Grade R to Grade 3 and therefore the CAPS curriculum, starts. We also enrol children turning 5 yrs old between 1 Jan and 30 June-- the year they turn 5 yrs old-- in a Gr R class, as they are allowed to be in a Gr R class by law. Please contact us for more information.

If you wish to come and view the facilities or want to enrol your child or if you wish to discuss anything not clear or have any other queries, please do not hesitate to give us a call or come and see us.
We look forward to meeting you!
